Join our weekly Luxury Retreats and pick your package for 3, 4, 5 or 6 days.  You may choose to attend both Yoga and Medical Qigong, or only Medical Qigong classes.

  • These retreats are perfect for those who want to relax, detox, meet new friends or connect with their partner.
  • We do not pressure anyone into group discussions about personal issues.  Although, our teachers are always available for one on one discussions and guidance.
  • We do not pressure anyone to participate in any classes.  Each item and activity on the program is included, but optional.  If you wish to skip a class and go into town for shopping we will gladly give you a ride.
  • On the daily schedule, wherever you see “Free Time” you can have the choice to relax and swim in our pool, or take any additional tours and activities you wish.

Our meal plan & detox juice plans have been designed by a registered nutritionist.  Please note that we are very considerate of guest’s dietary restrictions.  All of our ingredients are fresh, organic and locally sourced.  We also offer full vegetarian & vegan options.

“Qi” (pronounced chee), means air, breath of life, or vital energy that flows through all things in the universe.

“Gong” (pronounced gung, as in lung) means the skill of working with, or cultivating, self-discipline and achievement.

Together, Qigong means the skill of cultivating vital energy, or the ability to work with the electromagnetic energy of the body.  Qigong is a mind-body practice that improves one’s mental and physical health by integrating postures, movement, breathing techniques, and focused intention.

Medical Qigong therapy is the eldest therapeutic modality of Chinese medicine. It is a comprehensive system of health care, addressing the root cause of symptoms or disease, while treating the client as a whole. Medical qigong treatments are based upon a differential diagnosis rooted in Chinese medical theory.

In a Medical Qigong treatment, the practitioner, having developed through dedicated study and self-cultivation the ability to sense and manipulate energy, uses the adjustment of body alignment to restore health and wellness to the client. The practitioner may also teach medical qigong exercises and meditations

Practiced as an excellent adjunct to Western medicine, medical qigong and Chinese medicine may successfully treat conditions which Western medicine finds resistant or ambiguous

Medical Qigong Practitioner

Ils Cools

Ils Cools is a seasoned practitioner who studied under one of the most respected masters in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Born and raised in a small town in Belgium, Ils wanted to become a researcher.   She would discover ‘the’ cure that could erase all illness. So she studied Pharmaceutical Sciences, got an extra master degree in Biotechnology and obtained a PhD in Microbiology just to discover that it wasn’t about healing. It was about keeping people dependent on medication, most of the time.  She decided to look further for an alternative method.

That alternative method came first under the form of Yoga. And as it would make her feel good, she decided to go to Thailand for a 500h Teacher Training Course. That was in January 2014.

It taught her a lot. Mostly that her body, which was injured by years of gymnastics, rope skipping, Kung Fu, Karate and Gym visits, was getting flexible but was not healing.  her ankles were still hurting, her toes were still crooked, her back overly curved and tense. A recommendation of a friend led Ils to Chiang Mai and ThaiQiHolistics.

Something clicked. After one week of practicing Medical Qigong as taught by Ajarn Toh, her body told her that this was it. This was the major breakthrough she was dreaming about as a kid.

Ils stayed, and practiced.  About 5 hours every day.

It was life changing. My body changed.  My mind changed. I can’t say it went smoothly, it was hard, very hard by times but it was so worth it.

And when Ils was battling her personal battles, she also started teaching this life changing system to others.  First at the TQH center under supervision, later, about 9 months in her practice, at the Yoga Tree in the heart of the old city in Chiang Mai.
Ils stayed at the TQH center for more than 3 years. Practicing, teaching and working with various patients having minor problems to major diseases like ALS, assisting her teacher with acupuncture and giving Qi-massages. After about 5000 hours of practice and teaching experience at the TQH-center, TQH-retreats, Yoga Tree and some workshops in Belgium, she felt it was time to share the Qigong way with whoever wants to take their health and their life in their own hands.  As of now, Ils will be teaching exclusively under Tavoos Garden and Green Leaf Boutique Hotel.

I believe that with the right guidance and an open mind miracles can happen. Maybe not in one day but definitely over time.



I had the pleasure of visiting Cambodia for a yoga retreat that my friend Irina organized along side with Green Leaf Boutique. The experience was beyond words. The hotel is beautiful and has unique character, however what made me want to go back was the people. I fell in love with Cambodian people, especially that staff at Green Leaf Boutique.

I had the experience of a lifetime at the Green Leaf Boutique, taking part in a life changing yoga and wellness retreat in March of this year. Amir and his team were there to make sure our every want and need was fulfilled; from freshly prepared organic meals, to touring Angkor Wat and Kulen Mountain, as well as many other fascinating cultural sites. Being a non profit hotel, you can feel good knowing the money you spend goes back to the community.

A calm, relaxing, quiet piece of paradise in Siam Reap. This little hideaway also has the added bonus of giving back to their community and helping other less fortunate. The pool here was divine to swim in everyday, the food delicious! I highly recommend the Energiser Shake in the morning! Our room was clean and comfortable. It is well located and had a Tuk Tuk driver free of charge until 7pm which could drop you to nearby pub street and night markets. Green Leaf Boutique Hotel should be proud of their customer service and good ethics. The staff were always happy to help and booked us quad bike tours, a visit to the Cambodian Circus, Angkor Art Centre and more. Yogis, environmentalists and those who just love to relax will be in good hands
here and enjoy this place I’m sure

Joining the Yoga retreat a few months ago was the highlight of my year.  I had taken part in other retreats before, but what stood out with the one at Green Leaf was that it was more than just Yoga.  We got to experience the real culture of Cambodia and take part in all sorts of community activities.  Plus the food was beyond amazing!
